Archaeologists excavate sites for clues to how our prehistoric ancestors lived and died.  But there is another tool to aid the diggers - maths!

This lecture takes two case studies - the gigantic Neolithic passage tomb at Newgrange and the recently discovered Iron Age enclosure at Lismullin - to illustrate how mathematics is used to reach inside the minds of the builders of these ancient monuments.
