This Dr Maths show explores randomness and ways in which maths can order the chaos around us. Delve into mathematical history and discover how maths can be used to predict the future. Uncover the hidden maths in you.

It is a very popular, fun and entertaining show which would be suitable for Transition Year pupils of all abilities.

Steve Humble (aka Dr Maths) believes that the fundamentals of mathematics can be taught via practical experiments. He teaches mathematics on the Primary and Secondary PGCE Courses at Newcastle University. His re-search area is International education structures with a focus on India and Africa.

In his role as a maths publicist he travels in Europe as part of the European Maths Society. He holds the Guinness World Record for the most children learning maths outside the classroom.

This lecture is suitable for secondary school students aged between 15 and 18.

Space is limited, booking is essential.
