In this presentation Michael McCarthy and Dr Padraig Kirwan, WIT will demonstrate a variety of applications of maths in the real world. They will outline some of the maths behind the 2000 year old problem of moving water up a hill, to a more modern problem of explaining why the space shuttle exploded in 1985. This talk will touch on probability, functions and calculus in an intuitive and engaging way.

Event is free, but advance booking is required.
