Maths Week 2014 ends with a huge weekend

Maths Week Ireland 2014 has been a huge success. Congratulations to everyone who took part making Maths Week the biggest festival of its type in the world! It is estimated that well over 200,000 people participated.

It was the best Maths Week ever! Fantastic activities and events all over the island. Thanks to all that made it so successful. We’ve been overwhelmed by all the activity in the last week that we are hopelessly behind in reporting and updates.

At present we have over 145,000 students registered as taking part in Maths Week.  However we have a huge backlog of registrations yet to publish. (We have to check and vet each registration so it may take us a few days to complete). We expect the total participation to be over 200,000.

We had a great weekend, Saturday in Ulster Museum and Botanic Gardens in Belfast and Sunday celebrating the 100thanniversary of birth of Martin Gardner in a “Celebration of Mind” at the Botanic Gardens Dublin.

We will continue to updates reports of the week in the coming days.

Please send us reports/feedback of the Maths Week activities you have been involved in

Thanks to all partners, sponsors, schools and everyone who helped promote a positive attitude towards mathematics.
