Maths Week events cancelled but activities carry on online
Owing to the threat posed by approaching storm, Ophelia schools, FE colleges, Universities and Institutes of Technology will remain closed as a precaution for public safety.
Therefore all Maths Week schools events are cancelled. The Hamilton Walk is also cancelled and so also has the RIA Hamilton talk.
As much as we regret the cancellation of these events that partners have put a lot of work into organising, the safety of our audiences is the primary concern.
The Maths Week Team are taking shelter in the basement of the Gresham Hotel O'Connell St Dublin where we have set up a studio and are broadcasting on Facebook every half hour.

The Department of Education and Skills have instructed all school and colleges to remain closed on 16 October in the Republic of Ireland
In Northern Ireland Schools and FE Colleges will close on 16 October. Queen's University and Ulster University has also announced they will remain closed.
The Executive Office released this statement Sunday night
"The Department of Education has advised that all schools should close tomorrow (Monday 16 October). This is entirely precautionary, however given the weather warnings and the fact that the most severe weather is forecast for when pupils are due to be leaving school, the Department believes that this is an appropriate response."
Take precautions as advised to ensure safety of all.
